The world always seemed to move too fast and yet, too slow.
Love was there but neither you nor I knew how to show it.
I blame you for not preparing for what life shed upon my bones.
I blame you for allowing me to spread my wings before I was ready to fly.
Shades of gray turned a pure heart into coal.
I was unprepared but I’m glad, because I came out stronger.
Through the trenches I found the light.
Light and love broke through the blackened walls of my heart.
The world always seemed to move too fast and yet, too slow, but I found my own pace and learned to grow.
