Looking For The Perfect DIY Hair Mask?

DIY Mask

There are TONS of products out there that are too costly and simply do not give us that silky smooth look we crave! I have always been a product junky and I when I say “junky” I mean I was purchasing one product and still ten more that said it did the same exact thing. It was pretty ridiculous, especially since everything I tried just didn’t do what I needed it to do.

I recently posted a video on YouTube on some supplements I have been taking for some time that have done a wondrous job on my hair. You can watch that video below!

When it comes to deep conditioning and daily moisture, I like to use a DIY mask.

Coconut oil has worked like a dream for me and it very easy to make your own mask at home!

First you must choose your favorite brand. For me, Dr. Bronners cold-pressed unrefined coconut oil is my top choice.

When choosing a brand, be sure that it is organic and unrefined! You want to be sure that you are purchasing an organic product at its most potent and freshest form. Once you’ve done that you spoon enough into a microwavable bowl to saturate your scalp and hair, heating it up just enough to melt and easily apply. For added protein and moisture, add one large egg and a tablespoon of unrefined organic olive oil. Be sure to massage it into your scalp for about three to four minutes in order to promote hair growth. Once you’re satisfied, wrap your hair up in a bun and let it sit for thirty minutes to an hour. This can also be left in as an over night treatment, just be sure to wear a plastic hair cap to avoid a greasy pillow case!

Shampoo your hair thoroughly! You might want to do it twice before conditioning. Do not towel dry your hair!! EVER!! Instead, use a cotton t-shirt or a microfiber towel to prevent breakage and frizz. This mask can be done once a week until you are pleased with the results.

Style your hair as usual and you’ll see and feel the difference! Be sure to use products without chemicals as they cause major damage and destroy the hair follicles, causing frizz and breakage.

For daily shine and moisture, rub a small amount (dime size, if not smaller, depending on thickness of hair) into your hand and apply to the ends of the hair.

Remember to be patient when revitalizing your hair and enjoy the journey!
